Steve Sharpe

Asset Manager

Sharpy served his electrical apprenticeship in the Huntly underground coal mines for 6 years, before working as an electrical contractor for various organisations. He began his career in the oil industry in 1993 with Petroleum Services and this is where he first interacted with Waitomo – servicing our pumps and dispensers, and later being involved in building our Fuel Stops and Diesel Stops. After 10 years as Service Manager, he move in-house to the Waitomo team in 2018, where he manages all of our assets including our Fuel Stops and Diesel Stops, buildings and storage tanks. Sharpy also heads up our super-talented Operations Team.

Married to Andrea, Sharpy’s family includes daughter Georgia, step-daughter Sam, five grandchildren, a loyal labrador Bella and Max the cat. Outside work, you’ll find Sharpy in the wild outdoors hunting, fishing, camping and spending time
with his friends and family.
