Sharpy served his electrical apprenticeship in the Huntly underground coal mines for 6 years, before working as an electrical contractor for various organisations. He began his career in the oil industry in 1993 with Petroleum Services and this is where he first interacted with Waitomo – servicing our pumps and dispensers, and later being involved in building our Fuel Stops and Diesel Stops. After 10 years as Service Manager, he moved in-house to the Waitomo team in 2018, as our Asset Manager. He is now using his extensive skills and expertise to help supercharge the growth of our national Fuel Stop and Diesel Stop network.

Married to Andrea, Sharpy’s family includes daughter Georgia, stepdaughter Sam, five grandchildren, a loyal labrador Bella and Max the cat. Outside work, you’ll find Sharpy in the wild outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his friends and family.
