Peter Matheson

Finance Manager

A chartered accountant, Peter joined the Waitomo team after holding a variety of roles in various industries, in New Zealand and overseas. He’s responsible for overseeing the financial health of Waitomo, including reporting, managing risks, ensuring effective controls are operating, and driving the continuous evolution of accounting practices.

Peter also has the privilege of guiding our awesome Finance and Administration team, who pool their unique skills and experiences to create strong professional team that delivers. Peter’s greatest achievement – and challenge - at Waitomo was leading the financial aspects of the business through the volatile environment created by Covid.

Outside of work, Peter enjoys nature and the outdoors. He likes a physical challenge – even competing in the corporate tough guy challenge. He’s also enjoying the transition to being a family man and relishing every milestone that comes with starting a family.
